  1. I’ve read that article and it occurs to me that people (writers?) have been predicting the death of the novel for about one hundred and fifty years. He lists Trainspotting as the last and only novel of recent times that has caused a stir — I can think of a few more, some good and some that are terrible, so maybe he was having a bad day when he gave that interview? Terry
