It’s all got to go

Into the last days of September,
Wiltshire, in the south of England.
Norwegian red maple leaves are dropping
Like red butterflies

Soon they will form a deep covering.
They looked great through the summer
On the tree, and now on the ground
They are grabbing my attention.

When the light levels drop in October,
They’ll will stand out like a warm Eastern carpet
