I just commented on a poem by V Lucien Maier on writerscafe.org, One Grain. It’s about the good old idea of being a grain of sand. My comment went like this: “You took a much written about topic a lot further. It’s all about scale and individuality. The realisation that you are an individual and therefore your output is unique if you’re true to yourself drives us to great things. Originality is within everyone by the nature of what we are. We can even go a step further and accept that we are nothing before we can express the self in art. It’s true. Even cavemen knew it. If you accept you are nothing then arrange some rocks in a circle, that arrangement of rocks is a unique expression of you. Voila! Art!”
